Hello there good people. At the moment I am a frustrated redundant drummer/ percusionist, self taught since birth, one of the many folk that when you hear a good tune you've got tae tap yir feet ect. Well being a drummer I always go tae the extremes and start drummin on anything that gives a good tone.
Played in rock bands in my youth gradualy slowing down the pace to country & western. Currently soaking up sounds of tribal type bands sutch as Albannach
and Clanadonia. I would love to get involved with like minded people with a view of possibly starting something similar. So if you guys know or are aware of anyone looking to embark on such a venture, give me a shout. Ta.

Just to let you know that there are only a few tickets left for our Helensburgh Burns Club's Homecoming Night, on Saturday 14th November. Tickets are available from Club Treasurer, David Kinniburgh on 07784 195 199.

The concert will feature singers and musicians from the Linn Records landmark collection
"The Complete Songs of Robert Burns":
bouzouki and whistle player Marc Duff (Capercaillie)
singer and guitarist Lionel Mcclelland (Black Eyed Biddy / Bring In the Spirit)
singer and bodhran player Kirsten Easdale (Calasaig / Bring In the Spirit)

The programme will also have:
The talents of fiddle and British champion tenor-banjo player Celine Donoghue (Calasaig) who has performed at Burns events at the United Nations and European Parliament. She will be accompanied by her guitarist.

Local musicians also featuring, are:
singer and guitarist John Young
highland piper Colin Lawrie
clarsach player Pippa Reid-Forster

If you can't make it along, you'll still get the chance to hear the concert, as it is being recorded for broadcast, at a later date, by Celtic Music Radio.
For those of you outwith the station's range, you'll be able to tune in on the internet.
I will post, and message, details of how and when you will be able hear this broadcast.

Arrgh, I'm not going to make it on Sunday as I have an AGM for Cowal Open Studios!! But I had a great time and I'll be back (though not in and 'Arnie' way!). Is it definately every Sunday from 2-5pm? Have a great session on Sunday-I'll be jealously thinking of you all during 'Any Other Business'!
